My name is Oli and I
work as a Software Trainer.
I have been very lucky to travel to many places, as part of my job. This has included some beautiful parts of Scotland – travelling around in a huge bright orange jeep there was quite an experience too. Working away from home alone can sometimes be tough. The dread of asking for that 'table for one' but never a fear in Scotland. On one occasion, a lovely couple bought me a drink – how incredibly friendly.
I have also travelled somewhere a little bit more exotic! I am not one for heights, not keen on the sun, do not eat fish, and I cannot swim. However, a few years ago I took a 10-hour flight to Barbados and St Lucia. After stepping off the plane and in to a 31-degree furnace, I had no idea how I was going to cope. How wrong could I have been, our customer could not have been more welcoming and supportive (the air-conditioned showroom helped too).
My time in the Caribbean is one of my most treasured memories and one that I will never forget, especially as my manager (who came with me) wrote a hilarious mini-book about our escapades (signed copies are available).

- How would you describe working at
Reynolds?
Friendly, varied and rewarding. I have always found it appealing to work for a company where support is always available, colleagues are friendly, and every day is always a little different to the last.
- You have travelled to many customer
locations as part of your job, where did you
enjoy the most?
Early 2020, I continued my island travels, this time a very brief 45 minute flight to Jersey to install POWER at Derek Warwick Honda. An exciting launch with differing island processes and tax rates. Derek and his extremely friendly, positive staff were amazing. I have no idea about sports but I was lucky enough to get my Dad the autograph of the former professional Formula-1 racing driver Derek Warwick too.
- How have you found working in
dealerships throughout the
pandemic?
Our customers have gone the extra mile to make their working conditions COVID-safe. During the last year, I was on-site at Solway and David Hayton who both made the working environment extremely safe and maintained a positive and friendly staff morale too.
- What do you like to do in your spare
time when you are not working?
This year I have become a professional TV watcher although my eyes now have a Samsung rectangular imprint on them. Before the house-lockdowns, I used to enjoy a game of pool and a pint. I also win far too much money down the local bingo, Boris needs to hurry up and open these back up.
- When the last lockdown ended, what was
you most looking forward to?
I was really looking forward to seeing other humans, I knew they existed somewhere but I was slowly forgetting what they looked like.
- If you won the lottery, what is the
first thing you would do?
Take my parents on a long break to Australia to see some of my family. It would have to be First Class on an A-380 as my Dad is absolutely obsessed with them. As for me, I am very easily pleased, buying a house big enough to fit a pool and snooker table would do.
- If you could invite someone famous for
dinner, who would it be and
why?
Derren Brown, I am absolutely fascinated with mentalism and the techniques he uses on his TV series and live shows.
