Hi, I'm Steven and I am the Sales Manager at
Reynolds and Reynolds.
I am a very proud of my Scottish heritage. I have lived there most of my life and I recently moved to the Midlands to take on the role of U.K. Sales Manager a few years ago. Despite the move, I try to regularly enjoy some of the “home comforts” like Irn Bru, watching Braveheart and deep-fried everything (although it seems I can only get that last one back in Scotland!)
I have two small kids, aged 4 and 9 that keep me very active. They love football, golf and being out on their bikes but I sometimes wish for a rainy day so we can relax and watch Formula 1 racing or a football match indoors together.

We asked Steven some questions...
-
What is your role at Reynolds and
Reynolds and how long have you worked
with us?
I’m the National Sales Manager for the U.K. – a position that I have held for about four years. I first started as an Account Manager in 2017 and I was promoted to Sales Manager. At Reynolds, we try to promote from within and I'm one of these many examples.
-
What do you most enjoy about your
job?
I enjoy meeting dealers and seeing my team show customers how to solve a problem or why our products and company are the best choice. We have all grown to use video calls in the last 2 years, but you can't beat an in-person meeting.
-
Things have changed dramatically over
the last couple of years, how do you see
the future of customer experience
developing?
The whole world has changed since March 2020 – the online marketplace accelerated and moved forward 3 or 4 years. We have also seen consolidation at manufacturer, dealership and supplier levels that will continue. In the future, integrations between systems will become key – something we are taking a stronger focus on, and cars will have more technology and integration in them too.
-
If money were no barrier, what car
would you purchase?
Aston Martin One 77. Maybe a bit of the James Bond in me (although he has never driven this model…yet).
-
When you are not working, what do you
like to do in your spare time?
My free time is spent with my two boys – they’re aged 4 and 9. They love football, golf and being out on their bikes. I secretly wish for more rainy days so we can sit down and watch the Formula 1 racing or a football match together.
-
If you could walk in the shoes of one
person for a day, who would it be and
why?
Albert Einstein. Arguably, he is one of the most influential people to have ever lived (outside of religious figures). He was a true genius teaching himself many complicated areas of mathematics in his early teens and his name is synonymous with the word genius – it shows just how spectacular he was.
-
If you could have a super power, what
would it be?
To pause time. The day never seems long enough and the weeks (and now years) seem to fly by. No doubt if it was possible to pause time, I would most likely play a few pranks and have some fun too.
-
Do you have a favourite film that you
will never get bored watching?
Braveheart. I have to admit, I queued up outside HMV at midnight to buy Braveheart on VHS (for those that know what that is).
-
Now for the quick fire round…
Beach or Snow? Beach
Tea or coffee? Coffee
Apple or Android? Apple
Comedy or Thriller? Comedy
Football or Golf? Football
